iChemLabs UpdaterThe auto-updater will then open. It will download the latest BioTuple updates, verify the contents with our server, and then proceed to update BioTuple. It may take several minutes to complete. After the updater completes, it will notify you that it is ready and that BioTuple will be reopened. Administrator Priviledges

A system administrator (or yourself if you control the computer) should update BioTuple. In some cases, administrator privileges will have been set up to block normal users from changing the application. These permissions should be granted during an update.

A common issue on Windows Vista/7+ is to enable administrator privileges for BioTuple to update. If BioTuple states that you do not have the necessary administrator privileges on these platforms, perform the following steps:

  1. Exit BioTuple.
  2. Locate the BioTuple icon (shortcut or actual application).
  3. Right-click on the icon and select Run as administrator.
  4. Accept the security request. You will then be able to update BioTuple.

If this process does not work, you will need to consult with a system administrator to update BioTuple.

Manual Update

If all else fails, it is necessary to manually update BioTuple. Just uninstall BioTuple, and then reinstall BioTuple from the latest download links. Uninstallation does not deactivate BioTuple, so you will be able to run the updated version without having to reactivate.
